Gebben and Karen go back to the basics of shooting and handling a shotgun. From head to toe every component of the gun mount and move is crucial to executing a good shot. Learn how to start with a balanced stance optimizing your body’s movement, how to mount the gun properly, and how to move your body in rhythm with itself all to effectively move and shoot targets.

Gebben and Karen shoot a chondel target in 3 different places. The 3 break points require similar game plans but different angles of attack. This means that all 3 break points are higher than the hard focus. We create a diagonal line between the hard focus and break points, and that line is our angle of attack.

In this week’s episode Gebben and Karen take us through a couple of Battue targets that have speed. The target from the left is slightly quartering. The target from right is pure crossing and very far. Watch how the utilize the lasers to give us a great perspective of connection.

In this episode Gebben and Karen walks us through a thorough description of the pull away method. This method is neither of their foundational methods to approach targets however it is an essential tool to have in the bag.

One of the most important concepts of pull away is the ability to match the speed of the target as you feel connection. As you match the speed and the target approaches, the breakpoint slowly stretch away from the target and watch a break.

In this episode Gebben and Karen really go in depth on the swing through method. They help us understand when and where to use swing through and the aspects of the execution of this method. The laser helps the view really comprehend exactly how the connection happens.

In this video series with lasers, the goal is to give us a different perspective on seeing and understanding connection with targets. The laser provides a good visual on what’s happening with the target/gun relationship.

This particular video shows us the laser used in sustained lead. Remember that when you are shooting, you must see the target clearly and feel the connection. We do not want to reference the barrel or in the case the laser when we’re actually shooting.

The laser is adjusted for a 50 yard breakpoint in these first 4 videos. We played around with the adjustment the next night and aligned it parallel with the barrels which over the shoulder makes it look perfect but you’ll see in the Shotkam that it’s slightly low.
